When we talk about milestones we (parents of small humans) mark many of the “firsts” as though they are signs of our own skills. My talent as a humor machine were proven to be A-one the other night, eliciting Aja’s first giggle. It may really have been the fact that I was tickling her chest with my chin, but we heard it loud and clear. It had a little bit of a gurgle and oomph to it, and her eyes popped wide as though she were shocked that the laughter had finally escaped. She’s clammed up a bit since then and is making us wait for giggle #2. The other milestone this week was truly remarkable, and it was one of my own. I managed to get Jocelyn’s hair to go from this:
It only (ha) took an hour of Sesame Street AND Yo Gabba Gabba to get from start to finish, with a detour to feed the baby. I am quite proud of myself, the white mama that I am.
