Could you see the fire from where you are? Talk about terrifying!!

Such a scary thing to realize that there are no guarantees, ever. We are 30 miles from the San Bruno explosion and we could smell the fumes from the fire that night.

I'm an East coast transplant to this area, so the idea of The Big One is terrifying to me. I'm always fascinated by the little rumbles, but the thought of the faults really shifting has me reaching for the Xanax (reminder to self: get a refill of xanax).

but there is so much to love about living here, I really do understand why people stay in spite of what feels like a very real threat to their wellbeing at times.
