Fall really is the most wonderful time of the year. I’ve always been a fan of summer—with the sun streaking through my hair and the sand writhing between my toes—but as I grow older I have to put on sun-BLOCK and sand is just sandy. There’s a feeling in fall that can’t be matched.
James Rohl calls it the new New Year. A time when we can wear long sleeved shirts and sip pumpkin spice latte’s. Football begins, which right now is preceded by Jocelyn learning the Redskins fight song, and baseball ends (we’ve almost taught her
Take Me Out to the Ballgame), and we can sit together and root and cheer, free from whatever stress is billowing outside of our living room.
We celebrate anniversaries in the fall, and birthdays, and this year perhaps an almost-birthday (Aja was supposed to be born in late-November, but she had other plans). It’s a few months of love and happiness all rolled into a pumpkin pie. This year we look forward to Jocelyn expanding her vocabulary, Aja getting closer to taking her first steps, and the two of them playing the cat and mouse game that is Sisters. Fall reminds us that we have plans. Since getting married almost three years ago, almost nothing has gone according to plan. This year, I'm sure, will be no different.
What does Fall mean to you?
Boots, scarves and a long overdue reunion with friends!

Followed you over from LBS. Fall is my favorite time of the year. I love the crisp air, the change of colors and most of all... pumpkin spice lattes.
We are Patriots fans over here. Cannot wait for football on Sundays :)

I think fall is my favorite season! I grew up in New England where autumn is truly glorious! Oklahoma isn't quite as wonderful but it's still pretty awesome to have days in the 80s, cool evenings, jeans and sweaters, bonfires and hot cider and so many other wonderful fall things!

God, my husband is so excited for football! As in, giddy. My dad, too. Right before football season begins, my father says to Mama, "do you have any last words for me?" Because he'll be glued to the telly until January.

I love fall, too. Our anniversary is on November 20th (11 years this year!) and our 1st son was born in October. I picked the fall for our wedding because I absolutely love it. Thanks for reminding me that it is almost here! Or...is it here already? On another note, so glad you are a part of the "Funny Moms" group on Bloggy Moms!

Visiting from Lady Bloggers Tea Party. I am going to be "tasting" football for the first time this year-I am in a womens fantasy football league. Enjoy your fall!

When I was a kid in Minnesota, fall was the best with cool, even cold, air, leaves to rake, a wonderful scent to the air. But now I live in South Texas, where, quite simply, fall sucks. Ha.

I love fall, too, even though we don't get much in the way of fall weather here. I just love the shift in activity - school picks up, football starts, we begin preparing for the marathon of holidays. It's a good time of year. I always feel like it's full of promise.
